Three Nights at Fred is a 3D survival horror game: survive three nights in a haunted pizzeria, collect hidden notes, and avoid pursuing animatronics. Choose your enemies, choose your difficulty. Try it if you're brave enough!
Three Nights at Fred is a 3D survival horror game set in a haunted pizza parlor. The mission: survive three nights as a protector. Sounds simple. Not simple at all.
Before entering a level, the game gives you two important choices.
Enemies chasing you all night:
Difficulty: Easy, Normal, Hard. For first-time players, choose Easy first. Not because the game is easy. Because you need time to read the map before being chased.

Three nights correspond to three independent levels. Each level has a fixed objective: find and collect all the hidden pieces of paper scattered throughout the pizzeria. Collect enough to pass the level. Failure to collect enough means you cannot escape.
This is what sets the game apart from typical FNAF games. You don't just sit and watch the camera. You have to move. You have to explore. You have to take risks.
Don't run immediately upon entering a level. Look around first. The animatronics aren't activated right away. This is the time to orient yourself and remember the location of the doors.
Master the controls: WASD for movement, Shift for sprinting, C for crouching, F for picking up items and opening doors, L for locking or unlocking the viewfinder. When unlocking the viewfinder with L, use the mouse to interact with the glasses and tools.
This is the best part of Three Nights at Fred. You can't hide in one place forever. The task of collecting notes forces you to traverse corridors. Animatronics patrol constantly. They will chase you if they spot you.
Balancing the speed of collecting notes with the timing of evasion is the core skill of Three Nights at Fred.
